I've always hated deer. One specific deer to be exact. The reason why is because once that deer would show up, a loved one would pass on.
When I was little, my mom and I would always go for a walk in the woods. She would always bring along our old dog, Scooter. She would always take him along so he can get his daily walk. We would see these rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks and occasionally a wolf or two. If we got lucky, a bear. Out of nowhere Scooter started barking and whimpering and trying to get away, but from what? I looked up in the direction he was looking at and saw it. A pure white deer with big, eerie, black eyes. I caught it staring in the direction of where our house was.
"Mommy, look!" I shouted with awe.
She turned around to see and stopped everything she was doing. She gabbed Scooters collar and gabbed me by the hand.
"We need to go home, now!" she demanded.
She ran out of the woods, me and Scooter in her hands. I turned my head back towards the deer, but it was gone! Without a sound, it vanished!
Once we got home, my mom picked up the phone and dialed a number. She just stood there, waiting for someone to reply. After a while she hung up the phone. Her face was now red with water streaming down from her eyes.
She turned to me and said, as calmly as she could "Daddy isn't going to be home for a very long time."
My dad traveled from place to place for his job. Last time he called, he told us that he was staying at a hotel. The workers there said he ordered something to eat. He ended up eating  something with shrimp in it. He's highly allergic to shrimp. It wasn't until fifteen minutes after he ate it that he realized that he was having an allergic reaction. By then, it was too late.
They found, in his room, some money with a note attached to it. The note read: MONEY FOR FELIX. After my mom told me that I was so elated! She asked what I wanted. I already knew. It was something my brother, John, had and something my baby sister already had. A pet. I decided to get a cat for myself. I named her Lucky, hoping it would shed some hope for my mom.
A year later the same deer appeared. My sister and I were outside playing tag. Lucky and her pet parrot tried to play along, but ended up watching. I came to a screeching halt when I saw that deer. My sister tagged me and looked at the same direction I was staring at. Within a second we heard my brother scream. I told my sister to go get Mom. I would go check on John. When I found him he was lying on the ground, unconscious. My mom called 911 and they rushed him off to the hospital. He told the doctors that a stray bear wondered his way out of the woods and his dog started barking at it. It must have upset the bear because he tried attacking his dog. He then claimed he tried protecting him from the bear. The doctors said he punctured his lung and broke most of his ribs. Later that night, he passed on.
I decided the deer needed a name. Reaper sounded like fitting name. The only thing is, I didn't want to see Reaper again. I wish he would've gone somewhere else, but two years later he showed up.
My sister had just gotten on the bus. I was waiting for mine. I looking around when I saw him. Reaper, staring at the school bus. My eyes widened and I dashed towards the bus. I was too late. The bus skidded off the road and fell down a hill. I looked in the bus to see if my sister was okay. There were four survivors. She wasn't one of them. Nobody knew why it skidded off the road or what the problem was. All i know is the my mom and I lost part of our sanity.
Now I was permanently depressed. Lucky, my cat, tried to cheer me up. I have to admit, it was pretty funny, but I couldn't get over the fact that half of my family was gone. Lucky seemed to be the only thing I lived for. Everything soon started to change.
A year later I saw him. Lucky was tying to make me laugh by doing a cat walk. I smiled a little at that. She looked kinda cute doing that. As I was watching her I turned to my left. Guess who was there? Reaper, standing in between two trees trying to hide. I caught him staring at Lucky. I whirled my head back towards Lucky and saw her heading towards a rushing river. I lunged myself at her, but I was too late. Lucky fell in the river before I could even reach her! She clawed at everything she could! I tried fishing her out with everything that was able to reach her. Every attempt failed. The river threw her down, slamming the poor things head on some rocks. After that I lost it.
I started starving myself and started hurting myself anyway I could. My mom went crazy after my sisters expiration. Eventually the doctors had to come in due to my health. I refused everything they gave me. They said they don't know how much time I have left. I don't have much time left. How do I know? Reaper just appeared right outside of my window and he's staring right at me.
